I haven’t pimped stuff on this board before. But for those who may be familiar with a book I did a few years back on the 1950s Lions, When Lions Were Kings, Arcadia has just published a pictorial history that basically serves as an illustrated complement to it. It's called Detroit Lions: A 1950s Dynasty, and has almost 200 b/w images in its 128 pages. Also has 20,000 words of text, mostly captions. I think there's only about 4 or 5 pix in this new book that was used in the other. I even managed to get Leon Hart on the cover instead of Bobby Layne, no small chore.

Anyway, here's the Amazon link. Arcadia does a pretty good job with its local history titles (though maybe a touch pricey). This book appears in their Images of Sports series. If you have a photo dump of some team in any sport, college or pro, might be worth contacting them.

Thanks! I appreciate that. I never intended to do this follow-up pictorial but the first Lions book was so long I had to cut about 10,000 words and most of the photos. Those unused photos are the ones that wound up in this new book.
