Philadelphia Eagles-One Win Saves the Season 2006

Post by LeonardRachiele »

The Eagles came in at 5-6 with the Panthers half a game ahead at 6-5. After a 4-1 start Philadelphia had lost five of their last six games. Another loss would have ended their playoff hopes. With about five minutes left in the game, David Ackers kicked a 25 yard field goal giving us a 27 to 24 lead. I just about gave up hope as the Panthers took the kickoff and drove downfield to the six yard line with 40 seconds left. Lito Shepard intercepted a pass the End Zone to preserve the victory.

That was the start of a five game winning streak. The Eagles finished at 10-6 and defeated the New York Giants 23 to 20 in the Wild Card Game.
