Perhaps the 'ultimate' player/coach question

First decade of the NFL, maybe longer (this is where you all come in), practically every team's head coach was also a player (or was it, actually, a small percentage? again, this is where you all come in). The League's first decade was like a glorified sandlot league being the players did get paid though not much, and college-ball was so much more respected. And the 'captain'/'best-player on the team would also be the...HC. And Guy HAD to have been the 'Fonz' of 1920s NFL - bigger than Papa Bear or Curly at least up through his Yellow Jackets triumph of 1926! He should have been inducted in the Inaugural HOF class!

Anyway, here's the question...what was the first NFL season in which not a single team's HC was an actual player on the team?

Thanks very much in advance for the answer! And not just the answer, but just comments in-general of that era, what these player/coaches actually did week-in-week-out to help guide their teams to success, the evolution of the NFL HC, and if you agree that Guy should have been inducted in that esteemed 1963 Class instead of, not only not being inducted in '64 either, but having to wait until that...third Class?

Thanks again in advance!
