I think tomorrow and Christmas Eve are the 75th anniversary of the 1950 playoff games and Championship. I do not know much about the Giants / Browns and Bears / Rams, but is it safe to say the Championship game between the Rams and Browns was one of the best ten of all time?
Thanks.

Absolutely, but like the Giants, the Rams had their chances. Without the interceptions, I believe they would have beaten the Browns.
Interesting games with the Bears running at will against the Rams with Tom Fears saving their ass. Hard to believe that Mac Speedie only had one reception for the Browns against the Rams. A great game for Graham. I know weather played a factor but the Browns had more fans at the Giants playoff game. Would the Giants have won for a third time that year, had it been played in the Polo grounds?

For my money, Graham against the Rams in 1950 turned in one of the two best performances ever by a quarterback in a championship game. He came within THREE YARDS of a 300/100 game -- 298 yards passing, 99 on the ground -- more than half a century before one or two of the modern guys did it. And Graham did it in a nail-biting title game that went down to last few seconds, AND at a time when he couldn't take advantage of defenders who were afraid to hit him near the sideline and get a 15-yard penalty tacked on.

Yep, and the Rams lived and died with Waterfield that postseason because Van Brocklin didnt play well. Wouldnt have been cool though had the Bears and Giants had a championship game in the trenches? I still feel bad about the Giants, I feel they should have played at home against Cleveland. Does anyone know why the playoff was in Cleveland? The Graham game against Detroit in 1954 might have been his best ever ...

Quite possibly it was decided by a coin flip.
