Two new episodes of The Official PFRA Podcast are now available featuring Chris Willis and
Philip J. Lowry. Chris is the Head Archivist and Producer at NFL Films and a former member of the
PFRA Board. Chris has written several pro football history books including Joe F. Carr: The Man Who
Built The National Football League. Chris discussed his recent involvement in the dedication of a com-
memorative plaque at the building that served as the very first headquarters of the National Football
League. The dedication occurred in Columbus, Ohio on September 20, 2025. The plaque also honors two
foundational figures in the history of the league: Carr, the NFL’s second president, and Kathleen Rubadue,
the NFL’s first female employee.
Phil discussed his book Green Gridirons and a recent update to the book that he hopes to publish as a
second edition. The original book, which was published by the PFRA in 1990, is a statistical and
anecdotal celebration of the football fields and stadiums where major league professional football games
have been played.
