Sirianni's '22-thru-'25 Eagles

Post by 74_75_78_79_ »

I'm sure there are other such four-year teams to think of, but I already am seeing these last four Philly squads in the same way as I do the 1982-thru-'85 Dolphins and 2012-thru-'15 Broncos - each year having a different identity than any other year in the given stretch.

'22 Birds were the great true conference champ who easily could have taken the Chiefs but came up just short. The following year started off real good but were just barely winning big games, but still winning them - just barely beating KC at Arrowhead and barely beating Bills two keys examples of this! This made them a 'team of destiny'. But we know what happened in an almost-modern-day '86 Jets-like collapse regular season-wise, but WAY WORSE in the playoffs for they went one-and-done against TB whereas Jets at least..."woke up", beat KC convincing, and then sent Marty's top-seeded 12-4 Browns into double OT! And then 2024 strong all year long like two years prior, but simply BELT the very Dynastic team who they barely lost to two years ago. And now, so far in 2025, they're (like '23) just winning games any which way - 'team of destiny' - with this recent statement of blocking yet another FG vs McVay's Rams to actually run it back and win, start 3-0, instead! And, to me, the scary thing is the Birds may just be warning up. Seriously got a feeling this WON'T be a 2023 redux. I still stick with my they winning it yet again in '25.

But maybe you all see different!

Thoughts?

What other four-year stretches come to mind with each playoff team being so different than any of the other three given?
