....my 1,000th post. Took me 5 years to get here. I was gonna save it for when the Lions won the Super Bowl, but cemetery officials have assured me you can't post when you're six feet under.

Anyway, woo-hoo. I assume the traditional 10 double-rings of kielbasa (fresh, not smoked) and case of Labatts are on their way from PFRA headquarters to mark the milestone.

A celebration indeed! Hoping the Lions do well but I dont see as many wins this year, with other teams in the North improving.
I still feel they need pass rushing help but maybe this year they wont peak too soon.

Most of us are pikers compared to Brian--he's on the cusp of cranking out 4,000 posts. He's already got a freezer full of PFRA kielbasa. Don't know about the Labatts; seems more like a Johnny Walker Black guy to me.

Anyway, I think the Lions, after a slow start, will be a 10-7 or 11-6 team this year--good enough to squeeze into the playoffs, but this time around they just might peak at the right moment. Their schedule's damn tough, so's the division, it's gonna take time for that rebuilt O line to jell, the defense still has holes, and there's two new coordinators who need to really get into the feel of things. Personally, I'd prefer the Lions fly under the radar after a couple of seasons of being the NFL's latest sweetheart team. (Besides ol' what's their names in KC.)

Haha ... I mostly just respond now to posts, Richard, since nobody seems to want to banter or debate back-and-forth on my own Cap'n Obvious posts!

I just try to bring up interesting subjects ... and yes, I love Johnny Walker Black ... I cant afford the Blue or Gold!
