Favorite one-year 1,000-yard rushers or receivers
My first year following the NFL was 1978. Among the things I learned at age 7 was that rushing for 1,000 yards was good.
I learned that because Terdell Middleton did it for the ‘78 Packers and I was/am a Packers fan.
He never came close again and neither did the Packers until the 1990s. Not sure he’s my favorite, but he works just fine. (Barry Foster won me my fantasy football league in ‘92 and beer money I needed in college with some uber-cheap late-game yards to reach some 100 yard games in a season threshold. That was his only 1,000-yard season.)
In receiving, I loved Pat Tilley of the Cardinals and he made the 1,000-yard cut just once.
Who are your choices?

Mike Furry, 2006, 1089 yards receiving with the Lions. He had played three years with the Rams, the first two as a receiver and in the third had moved to safety and started 11 games. Signed by the Lions for the next season, he moved back to receiver and finished second in the league in receptions.

Detroit’s Pat Studstill caught 67 balls for 1266 yards and was named 1st team All-Pro in 1966. It was his only 500+ yard season.

Though he had multiple 1000 yard seasons, what Wes Chandler did in 1982 was amazing. Simply one of the best seasons for any wide receiver and he did it in 8 games! Imagine if SD played 16?
How this guy is not in the HOVG is a head-scratcher but understandably, voters want to recognize older players from earlier eras. I still believe he had just as good a case as recent inductees, Morgan and Ellard.

I liked watching Fred Jackson as well, conace21. Some people dont remember that he basically took the job from Marshawn Lynch ...
