Tush Push rule proposal

Many of you have probably heard that the Packers (ironically, they've used the "Love Shove" a few times themselves; I'm surprised it wasn't WFT) proposed a rule change attempting to ban the tush push at league meetings. The proposal is written as follows:

“No offensive player may... immediately at the snap, push or throw his body against a teammate, who was lined up directly behind the snapper and received the snap, to aid him in an attempt to gain yardage.” This would become a 10-yard penalty if passed, which requires 24 teams (75%) to vote yes.

Mike Florio, however, says it's not likely to change much even if it passes: https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootba ... hange-much

But of course, Mike Florio says a lot of things.

So what do you all think of the proposal? Is it likely to pass? Should it be amended first? Should the tush push be banned at all? Or should pushing the ballcarrier (except in large scrums and such) be categorically banned again?

I'm not a big fan of the tush push, but I think it has more to do with this guy I had to stand in line behind.....

Wouldn't it be simpler just to ban pushing the runner, which was against the rules for about 100 years?

This. I am not a fan of the tush push nor of three offensive lineman moving the ball carrier in a scrum an extra four yards. The defense isn't allowed to drive the ball carrier backwards so just ban all of it.
