Eagles Come at Passing vs Steelers

gainst the Panthers, the Eagles had their continuing problems with scoring in the first quarter. Fully expected is that this will catch up with them at some point in the next four games, the Playoffs, or both. I remember the Birds leaving points on the field in three games during that six-game winning streak in 2009. Dallas defeated us easily in the final regular season game 24 to 0 and in the Wild Card game 34 to 14. We know that the receivers are getting antsy not catching more passes.
I am not suggesting this a novelty; but perhaps Philadelphia could pass more in the first quarter and give us more points right at the start. Games might not become uphill battles and wins would be easier. This of course translates into the resting the staters and giving reserves much needed playing time. In addition to the BYE week and home field advantage, I would like to see a meaningless game at year end to completely sit down the first team. Recall the last two games of the 2004 season and the 6 to 0 loss to Dallas in 2017.
The Eagles missed a chance to see this in 2022. After going 13-1, Philadelphia lost to the Cowboys and Saints. As a result, Eagles had to defeat the New York Giants to get both marbles for the Post Season. Had they defeated the Dallas Cowboys, the team and fans would have two games for rest and relaxation. They also missed a good chance or chances to experiment with an eye to future years.
