The Cowboys in Week One got their first win ever defeating the Steelers 27 to 24. Pittsburgh was leading 24 to 17 with just three minutes left but lost the game. Now in week nine at Forbes Field, the Steelers won their third straight game easily.
Rudy Bukich completed nine passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns. Both of them went to Buddy Dial for 73 and 15 yards. The Steelers got two interceptions. Bill Butler had a 71 yard return for a touchdown. Willie Daniel returned his interception 41 yards.
Don Meridith and Eddie LeBaron completed just 13 of 33 passes for 143 yards. The Steelers gained 371 yards to just 185 yards for Dallas. The Cowboys had only eight first downs.
