NFL stepping up security
Michael Signora, NFL’s senior vice president of football and international communications, regarding this:
The NFL will be implementing a league-wide accreditation modernization process that will be used at all 30 stadiums, beginning with the 2024 season. The purpose is to enhance security by streamlining accreditation across the league for all who utilize a credential to access an NFL game – both media and non-media alike. The NFL has determined the most sensitive areas in stadiums on gameday, and to access those areas, credential scanning and biometric authentication will be required. All individuals accredited for an NFL game, regardless of their job function, must agree to the credential use terms and follow the same logistical process. Accredit is the platform that will be used to submit and process all credentials.
Media will still apply for accreditation as in years past, requesting season-long credentials in the case of local media that cover a club on a daily basis, and for individual games in other instances, with clubs continuing to make accreditation decisions.
Clubs will communicate details on the new system to their local media, while the league will share information with national media.

Re: Facial recognition and biometrics to cover a team
I wonder if the NFL is aware that facial recognition technology shows a racial bias.
