Did some 'research' and found something which I found amazing....in 14 regular season games, the 1974 Rams gave up 3 points total in the 1st quarter.

That was probably the best of the Chuck Knox LA Rams teams. If Harold Jackson had managed to score on that long pass reception in the 4th quarter they had a great shot at beating the Vikings and going to SB IX. A match up with the young Steelers would have proven interesting.

also recovered an unusually low number of fumbles ... for a good defense

They still turned the ball over 5 times and had too many penalties, but avoided getting kicks blocked and some of the other things that happened in those losses.

The defense generally played pretty well here, but couldn't get off the field a couple of times. After Harris threw the pick in the end zone, the Vikings went on a 15 play, 80 yard drive to go up 14-3. The Rams did get a chance in Viking territory after they closed to 14-10, but Harris was sacked twice. Then the Vikings ran out the last 5+ minutes.

Also, this was the last year of rotating the home fields, and the game would have been in LA the next year due to the Rams beating the Vikings during the regular season.
