DET 22 - 29 G.B. - the Lions very nearly lost to 'Da Bears' in Week 11 but unlike CHI 4 days earlier G.B. didn't let them off the hook on Thanksgiving, handing the Lions their 3rd loss of the season and their 7th straight T'giving Day loss. The Packers, meanwhile, look like they may have "righted their ship" as they've now won 3 of their last 4.
DAL 45 - 10 WAS - at one point the Commanders closed to 10 - 14 in this game. After that, as you can tell by the final score, the game was pretty much all Cowboys.
SEA 13 - 31 SFO - With the exception of perhaps the 3rd quarter the 49ers pretty much dominated in this one, winning in consecutive seasons in Seattle for the first time in their history and opening up a 2-game lead over SEA in the division in the process.
the NYJ 13 - 34 MIA - in the first-ever "Black Friday" N.F.L. game the Dolphins were nursing a 10 - 6 lead but the Jets were driving just before halftime. Then Jets QB Tim Boyle (inserted into the starting lineup in place of ineffective former 1st round draft pick Zach Wilson) attempted a "Hail Mary" pass that was returned 99 yards for a touchdown to give MIA a 17 - 6 lead at halftime which they never relinquished.
TEN 17 - 10 CAR - in this battle of last-place teams from the two South divisions the Titans survived. Panthers H.C. Frank Reich did not, however, as he was fired after this loss (which leaves CAR 1 - 10 - tied for their worst-ever start after 11 games - on the season).
HOU 21 - 24 JAX - the Texans attempted a 58-yard FG with about 30 seconds left in the game, an attempt that "doinked!" off the crossbar and bounced back into the field of play, leaving JAX in first place in the A.F.C. South.
ATL 24 - 15 'N'awlins' - Thanks to this win by the Falcons every single team in the N.F.C. South is below 0.500 after Week 12 of the season.
the NYG 10 - 7 N.E. - As with HOU, N.E. missed a late FG leaving the Patriots at 2 - 9 and guaranteeing Bill Belichick his first losing seasons in consecutive years since 1992 - 93.
CIN 10 - 16 PIT - Much-maligned Steelers QB Kenny Pickett actually had a pretty good day in Cincinnati while the Bengals, w/o the services of Joe Burrow, look to be also-rans this year.
Indy 27 - 20 T.B. - the A.F.C. entry took the "W" in the game between the two last-place teams from the South divisions, and the A.F.C. entry took the "W" in the game between the two third-place teams from those divisions, as well.
DEN 29 - 12 CLE - Was there ever really any doubt that DEN would prevail over CLE in this one? The Broncos have now won 5 straight games and actually look like they might be headed to the playoffs while the Browns not only lost the game (and lost ground to BAL in the division race) but they lost star DL Myles Garrett to injury, as well.
ARZ 14 - 37 the Rams - if not for the CAR Panthers the Cardinals would be on target to be what most people figured they would be before the season: the worst team in the league.
PHI 37 - 34 (OT) BUF - I saw something online a few weeks ago about the Bills never having recovered from "that" playoff loss to Kansas City. There might be something to that as the Bills, who just a couple of seasons ago looked like potential S.B. champions, now look like a team whose chance has already passed it by.
the LVR 17 - 31 K.C. - Nope. The Raiders weren't able to hand the Chiefs their 2nd straight loss. The Chiefs still seem to be "off" but they still look like a certain playoff team. The Raiders, meanwhile, look as rudderless as ever.
the LAC 10 - 20 BAL - the Ravens got the win in California on Sunday night and increased their lead in the division in the process.
MIN 10 - 12 CHI - and tonight 'Da Bears' ended their franchise record 12-game losing streak in division games by upsetting the Vikings in an error-filled game at U.S. Bank Stadium. After picking Vikings QB Josh Dobbs off 4 times (but getting only 3 points out of those takeaways) 'Da Bears' looked like they'd blown the game (again) when they gave up a touchdown with about 5 minutes left in the game. But Justin Fields came through in the clutch, leading his team downfield where they kicked the winning FG with a mere 5 seconds left in the contest. MIN, 11 - 0 (an N.F.L. record) in one-score games last season, is 5 - 6 in such contests this year.
