Rookie RB trivia
Through the first 8 games of my rookie year, I had 78 yards rushing. My coach was fired and replaced in midseason, and under the new coach in the next 8 games I had 712 rushing yards. So the first coach didn't use me, and the second coach did. The irony is that the first coach was my coach in college. Who am I?

I've got the answer but I admit I cheated since I have a stathead subscription. Interesting about his former college coach not using him his rookie year.
I'll toss out another hint if I may. This coach in question who got fired mid season later got another NFL head coaching job in which he was reunited with yet another running back he coached in college. Yes, the two running backs in question were college teammates.

Oh dang. I didn't mean to ruin your trivia question. Sorry! I thought I'd be adding another "layer of intrigue". FWIW the other RB in question was Eric Dickerson.

It's funny, but I actually thought of Craig James when I saw the original question. Looking at it now, I can't recall what made me think of him, though. And then the mention of his college teammate made me think of him again, along with Dickerson. But it still seemed too farfetched, so I didn't look up James' career to check it out. Oh well.
