Kansas City at Oakland Game 2 Raiders 38 Chiefs 21 Week 9
This was a great passing duel with starters and reserves playing for each team. The play got really rough and both starting quarterbacks got injured. The Raiders won the game but both sides put up some pretty impressive numbers. Final Oakland 38 Kansas City 21.

Kansas City Chiefs-Len Dawson completed 10 of 20 passes for 173 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Jacky Lee completed five of 10 passes for 95 yards and one touchdown. Mike Garrett caught seven passes for 47 yards. Frank Pitts caught six passes for 95 yards and one touchdown. Glouster Richardson caught two passes, both for touchdowns, for 121 yards.

Oakland Raiders-Daryle Lamonica completed 18 of 32 passes for 352 yards and two touchdowns. In relief, George Blanda completed 11 of 14 passes for 129 yards. Fred Biletnikoff caught eight passes for 144 yards. Warren Wells caught six passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. Billy Cannon caught seven passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.

The Raiders gained 539 yards while the Chiefs had 327. The big statistic-Oakland recorded five sacks for 34 yards in losses; their own pass protection did not allow the Chiefs any sacks. This is always a big factor in who wins or loses.

Once Wells started getting going in 1968, he was a handful for every team. He gave Emmitt Thomas fits in this game and the divisional playoff. Thomas played much better against him in 1969. Like I have speculated on here before, Raider fans have to wonder if Marv Hubbard could have been a run-at-them factor in the 1969 AFL Championship game.

Penalty filled game too. 21 combined for both teams

500+ yards of total offense is impressive in any era.
