Herman Edward vs the New York Giants

In addition to the Miracle at the Meadowland in 1978,  Herman Edwards had some other big games against New York Giants.   All of them were at home.

1977   Two interceptions in a 17 to 14 win.  The Eagles won their final two games to finish 5-9 in 1977.

1978  Two interceptions in a 20 to 3 win.  It was the final game of the season.  With a 9-7  record,  Philadelphia had their first winning season in 12 years.

1980  Two interceptions in a 35 to 3 win.  Part of the 1980 Super Bowl season.

1981  Just before the half,   Edwards'  interception led to a Jaworski to Carmichael  touchdown pass.  The Eagles lost the Wild Card Game 27 to 21.

1982  Two interceptions in the 26 to 24 loss.

1985  Great defensive play.  The Eagle hit Phil Simms as he was throwing a pass from his own End Zone.  The lip ball rose and fell.  Edwards caught it at the three and had a easy touchdown.   This was the Eagles only touchdown in a horrible offensive show.  The Game went in overtime tied at ten.  Ron Jaworski threw an interception that the Giants returned for a touchdown.  A  16 to 10 loss  in that 7-9 season.
