Replacing a Legend Dallas Cowboys-Danny White 1984

The Cowboys were 9-7 in 1984

Game 8 Indianapolis at home-Cowboys won 22 to 3
Danny went 21 of 32 for 262 yards and two touchdowns.

Game 13 New England at home-Cowboys won 20 to 17.
White went 21 of 41 288 yards and one touchdown.

Game 15 Washington at home-Cowboys lost 30 to 28.
White went 22 of 42 for 327 yards and four touchdowns.
The loss ruined his best performance of the season.

Game 16 at Miami-Cowboys lost 28 to 21.
White went 20 of 24 for 246 yards and one touchdown.

The Cowboys might have made the playoffs in 1984 had Pearson and Martin not retired. Tony Hill had two injury plagued years in 83 and 84 that hurt the offense as well. Had Hill stayed more healthy in 83,84 and 86--though White being injured affected his year as well--he would have easily cleared over 10,000 receiving yards for his career. He and Wes Chandler were excellent, big play receivers that missed out on the HOF for a variety of reasons but both had position teammates that made the HOF.
