Franchise single-game receiving records

I saw that Justin Jefferson broke the Vikings single-game receiving yardage record. Not all that surprised since the guy is a monster, but I was surprised to learn that the Vikings record was still held by Sammy White. In his rookie year in 1976, White put up a 7-210-2 statline against the Lions that featured a 37-yard receiving TD off of an Ahmad Rashad lateral. You'd figure that Randy Moss, Cris Carter or even Adam Thielen would have had a bigger game at some point in history. Jefferson's 223 yards even eclipsed Anthony Carter's 221-yard game against the Niners in the playoffs.

Trivia: who was the first Seattle Seahawk to have 12 receptions in one game?

John L Williams in 1989 ? I thought it could have been Sherman Smith. Both those fullbacks could catch the ball and loads to bring down.

I would still take AC's game against the Niners in the playoffs with Minn, over Jefferson's yesterday, who is a monster but doesnt catch enough TDs ...

So... all he doesn't do is catch TDs?

Haha ... good comment off Cris Carter. Yep, Jefferson may have 2000 yards and eight TDs.

Brian Blades?

Seattle had some decent under the radar receivers historically. Obviously Largent sits at the top of the mountain but they had some good players, not flashy or the types who get much press, who had nice careers. Darrell Jackson, Bobby Engram, Baldwin, Joey Galloway.

Always liked Skansi. Not a big producer but had heart and got the job done as a #3 receiver back in that era

This is the right idea, but wrong player(s).

Was it Largent in 1987 ? He had a monster 15 catch game against Detroit but maybe someone had a 12 catch game first ?

That was my original guess as well but I see that Largent had a 12 reception game at Denver on Nov. 25, 1984.

It was not Largent....the John L Williams guess was closer to the answer.

Caught the gw-TD in the Derrick Thomas 7-sack game.

I always liked that Skansi was local. Had a monster performance in a State Championship win, then known as the Kingbowl (because it was in the Kingdome, obviously) and he was Kingbowl Player of the Day, playing for the Peninsula Seahawks -- yes, they were the Seahawks before Seattle. Then played college at UW, then eventually played for the Seattle Seahawks. HS, College and Pro all in the same state is always cool, especially when HS and pro had/have same name/mascot.
