Does anyone know of any online archives that have issues of The Sporting News? I'd love to be able to check out their Pro Football Yearbook issues from the '80s and '90s.
PFRA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the history of professional football. Formed in 1979, PFRA members include many of the game's foremost historians and writers.

Go to Archive.org and search Sporting News. Also, Newspaperarchive.com has old issues under the state of Missouri and the city St Louis (not Saint Louis. They both are listed).Oszuscik wrote:Does anyone know of any online archives that have issues of The Sporting News? Thanks!ehaight wrote:If you are logged into your SABR account, go to the "Research Resources" page (https://profile.sabr.org/general/custom ... -resources) and look for the Paper of Record link. You don't need to create a Paper of Record account. Logging in through the SABR portal gets you access. SABR members also have free access to the basic tier of Newspapers.com
That is a huge tip -- thank you! The Sporting News was great in its day.7DnBrnc53 wrote:Go to Archive.org and search Sporting News.
