Was just reading that Lou Groza attempted a 57-yard Field Goal against Miami in their 9/6/46 meeting, first game in AAFC history. Had anyone seen a similar or longer attempt pre-'50?

I vaguely remember once coming across a mention in some game account from the 1930s that a Lions kicker attempted a similar FGA of maybe 57+ yards (and missed, of course). Seems like it was at the end of the first half and it was either Dutch Clark or Glenn Presnell. Presnell did kick a 54-yarder in 1934 (which I believe at the time set a new record). Wish I'd jotted it down but I was researching something else.
