2022 playoffs
2022 playoffs
Every game but one decided by 3 points, two in OT, and 5 on the very last play of the game. Simply fantastic (at least from a "neutral"'s point-of-view). It's going to be hard to top these playoffs in terms of drama and tension (at least from the conference semis forward). I'm sure the N.F.L. is thrilled.

Well, you're leaving out that miserable first week -- Super Wildcard Weekend! Who could've imagined that letting in a couple more mediocre teams would result in boring blowouts?racepug wrote:Every game but one decided by 3 points, two in OT, and 5 on the very last play of the game. But just looking at the next three weeks, of course you're right.

Yeah, three straight 3-point wins by the Rams, 3 straight GW drives by Stafford. I kind of feel as personally vindicated as he does. I've been praising the guy, here and everywhere else, for years as just someone who needed the right organization and team to be proven a winner. Of course, that can be said of just about any other player. Still, you have to be able to take advantage of the opportunity---and he did, first year out of Detroit.
It'll be interesting to see whether the Rams can return to the SB. Not many teams make a repeat visit, much less win back-to-back. The Rams' window is very narrow, considering all they've given up to get there.
With the rules the way they are now, and the increasingly insane megabucks contracts, I can see Stafford playing another 8-10 years. In fact, we're gonna be seeing a lot more 40+ year-old QBs in the future, I bet. If that's the case, there's a good chance Stafford will win another ring.
