Assuming Ken Riley gets the slot

What other high stat, high-logevity guy can be compared to him

Dick LeBeau is one---
Frank Gore, one 1600-yard year, two other 1,200 yards,
1,000-yard seasons in one-back systems are average if that

The blind-side pass rushers
Bacon, Baker, high sacks, low honors, longevity, those might be best comparisons

Dave Brown will never get a sniff, 62 picks, fewer honors than Riley, but not by much

those are off the top of heard without looking

Eugene Robinson is similiar but won a championship as well. He did lots of things well but had low honors for some reason. Darren Sharper was a high risk, high reward player with lots of turnovers like Riley but controversial, like Tyrer.
They both may still have modern eligibility left but no one is shouting out of a bullhorn for them ...

Though I like Parrish more, and John and others discussed the comparisons of both in detail, I have no problem if Riley gets voted in ... His ballhawking ability and endorsement from John Madden - who thought he broke up passes well before the receiver could catch them - is okay with me but you always want the BEST candidates, regardless of team or voting circumstances.

I won't be up in arms, I will just think he's in the Dick LeBeau, Floyd Little echelon
rather than the "best of the best"

I mean the senior committee is entrusted with picking and there is little
anyone can do---so we just sit back and watch.

Certainly, I agree that there are better candidates but if Riley gets
it, and there is solid chance he's the guy, then the committee will
get a lot of love from Bengals fans and some criticism from a lot
of others.

I would just say senior committee batting average for lat 20 years
went from 90% to 85%, something like that

Though LeBeau and Riley are somewhat similiar, we all know Dick's coaching helped get him elected and hopefully Kilroy's playing career might help him in the contributor category ...

LeBeau 3x 2nd team All-Pro, 1x 2nd team All-NFC, 62 INTs
Riley 1x 1st team All-Pro 2 2nd team All-Pro, 1 x 2nd team All-AFC, 65 INTs

looks about the same honors-wise, picks LeBeau 5,4 per 16 games, Riley 5.0 per 16 games

Little had some black ink---was First-team ALl-Pro/AFL 1969, 1971, 2nd team 1970

I dunno---you could be right, but not seeing what your seeing

Haha ... I am guessing Howley, like many of us ... though I think you like Branch, Shofner, Cromwell, etc ...

My vote would be Gradishar or Howley

but there are several guys worthy---and I am talking moderns, no super seniors are going to make it
so leaving them out.

If it is Meador or Klecko, I think they are certainly worthy. Mike Kenn worthy, as long as
the players was a dominant player---recognized as a top player for a decent amount of time
I think that player is worthy so it could be any number of players but my vote, if there were
just one guy would be Gradishar. If there were 2, would go Howley and Gradishar
