Longest pass pre-1934 college or pro?
On October 6, 1934, Winnipeg Rugby Club backfielder Russ Rebholz completed a 78-yard pass (68 yards through the air) to Lynn Patrick to score a touchdown against the Concordia College Cobbers of Moorhead, Minnesota. At the time, newspaper reports claimed it was the longest forward pass of 40 yards or more in the air to be completed in all of North America. Since this was an American college team playing a Canadian "amateur" team (that would later be correctly classified professional), both college and professional records are applicable. Does anyone know of a longer forward pass before that date?
