Just happy they acknowledged the '64 Bills!

Re: Top 100 teams ever (NFL Network)
A spot should have been left somewhere for the '65 Bills as well. And if the '21 Staleys are on this list, then the '21 All-Americans should be (perhaps tied with them) as well. Maybe Clev & GB respectively win two hypo '64 & '65 Super Bowls, but IMO each of the two Buffalo squads deserves a place on this list more-so than some NFL/SB champs that are on this list.JeffreyMiller wrote:Just happy they acknowledged the '64 Bills!
I do think that each of the four Browns teams of the '40s should have a spot on this list along with Shaw/Albert's Forty Niners at least getting 'honorable mention' just outside the bubble. Two full spots (not merged together) should be filled-in by each Greasy Neale Eagles team.
Trippi's 1947 Cardinals not on the list ('48 Cards a reasonable non-champ candidate as well)????
Far too many post-merger non-champs on this list. Understandable enough to have a select very-few, but not quite as many as you see here. And starting with some examples that I'm sure most of us can agree with, not every single SB-winner has to be on this list. It can leave room for the teams I already mentioned. Let's add the '25 Maroons to the convo!
2017 Eagles at #36? I respect them, but a bit too early to place them that darn high don't you think? I'm not even sure yet where they stand legacy-wise this very century/decade.
'72 Dolphins (because they were undefeated) and '85 Bears I guess I should have known to be voted top-2 in this, here, NFL Network poll. The '73 Dolphins were noticeably better than '72 in my - and many other - opinions. Still not too much argument/artillery vs Perfection! And, mind you, they still are the only SB-runner-up to win-it-all the following year and to do it...17-0! Not to mention winning it yet again the year after that! And no sneezing at a dominant, imagination-catching cast of 'characters' going 15-1 and shutting out the NFC playoffs en route to utterly dismantling an overwise respectable AFC-rep (I respect them, at least), the Pats! One of the very few times in my life that I rooted for the favorite instead of the underdog. I had, read, and enjoyed the Ditka and McMahon bios that year! That team did intrigue and excite me. They and '72 Phins being top-2 certainly no travesty. Nothing at all to get up on soap-box over. It's just that in my opinion, some of the teams ranked right beneath them - starting, of course, with...#3 - were simply better to me.
EDIT - mistake, NE won it all last year after losing to Philly! Still...it took until then for it to happen again.
Re: Top 100 teams ever (NFL Network)
I would have the 76, 78, and 75 Steelers listed 1-3. The 72 Fins went undefeated, but they were in a weak division (just like the 07 Patriots). Also, this is another Patriot love-fest. 2016 Pats at 21? 04 Pats 16th? Way, way too high for those teams. They also have the 03 Pats rated 32nd and the 01 Pats 51st. Those teams don't belong on this list.

Wonder where this year's Patriots team will end up, assuming they go at least 14-2 and win the SB? That defense though7DnBrnc53 wrote:I would have the 76, 78, and 75 Steelers listed 1-3. Re: Top 100 teams ever (NFL Network)
Observations:
1978 Cowboys way too low at number 94. They lost the Super Bowl by 4 points and the game came down to an onside kick in the final minute; had they won the game, they would be in the top 15.
The 1951 Rams at 92 should rate higher in my opinion than the 1945 Rams at 70.
I would rate the 1990 49ers (73) above the 1970 Colts (72). The 1990 49ers were, along with the 1998 Vikings, the strongest teams ever to lose a Conference Championship game in my opinion, and should rate higher. I would rate the 1990 49ers above the 1988 49ers, not sure about 1989.
1970 Colts (72) ahead of 1980 Raiders (74)? I think if you really evaluate the two teams, the Raiders are much better than the Colts, despite the 11-5 record for the Raiders against the 11-2-1 for the Colts, which was due to the tougher schedule the Raiders faced (Two games vs San Diego, NFC East, Pittsburgh, Buffalo), and from mid-October thru the rest of the season they really were the strongest team in the league.
2015 Panthers rated too high at 68, above the 1983 Redskins at 75. I would take Riggins and Thiesmann over Newton any day.
1982 Redskins at 54, 1987 Redskins at 63, 1983 Redskins at 75. I think I'd rate them the other way around. I think I would have both of the Washington strike Super Bowl teams in the 90's on the list.
2017 Eagles too high at 36; 1981 49ers too high at 31; 1973 Dolphins too low at 28, below the 1969 Chiefs; 1950 Browns too low at 25; 1968 Jets too high at 24; 2000 Ravens too high at 22; 1986 Giants too high at 12.
I think they included every Super Bowl winner, but not every NFL Champion since 1933. No 1935 Lions, 38 Giants, 39 Packers, 42 Redskins, 44 Packers, 46 Bears, 47 Cardinals, 52 Lions (they could have lumped 52 and 53 together like they did for the 1948-49 Eagles), 55 Browns (they could have lumped the 54-55 Browns together also), 57 Lions, 59 Colts (they could have lumped them together with the 58 Colts), 61 Packers (they could have lumped 61 and 62 together), and 65 Packers (they could have lumped 65-66 together.
Personally, I would have removed the 1999 Titans (at 91, ahead of the 1978 Cowboys and 1951 Rams ?!?) and replaced them with the 1947 Cardinals.

Re: Top 100 teams ever (NFL Network)
I haven't really had a chance to delve into this list yet. I did skim it. I had some of the same thoughts mentioned so far. Like, seven 21st century Patriots teams??? (And 4 in the top 32) ...and everything that Rupert mentioned. Also,... I think the 1934 Lions need to be on here somewhere. ZERO points allowed until the final month or so of the season. Only 59 points total allowed.

"iconic voices from all walks of life" will discuss--translation: "I'm a recognizable name who was a fan of a team and I'll gush moronic gibberish for 30 seconds."
So is it a given that every SB team in the last 25 years will be included?

How about the 11-1-2 1967 Baltimore Colts, who were undefeated going into the final week of the regular season and due to the playoff structure of the time, a loss would end their season?ChrisBabcock wrote:Also,...
