The thing is, without comparing it to Manning or Brady or Rodgers or Favre, etc... how do the numbers compare? It's a little likethe Floyd Little numbers that went with his HOF candidacy with the exception that these are probably much more accurate because film was the source. With Little, it wasn't.

The Floyd Little thing still pisses me off because it literally shines a light on the fact that the HOF voters have no ability to use basic logic.

Perhaps Little was purposely enshrined as a means to make all other questionable HOF selections appear better by comparison..."a rising tide lifts all ships" kind of thing?

I didn't think there was any question to Drew Brees eventually going into the HOF...but perhaps I am misreading the perception of him.

totally agree, and they should be proud of the research, I find it fulfilling to complete stuff, though never done anything like that. But my only issue is it doesn't tell me anything in terms of comparative greatness. Throwing a ton of go routes to player x is great, but after that, what?

I agree with this assessment. It's very interesting and I applaud the people who put in all that work, but it doesn't tell me anything about HOF-worthiness.
