NFL Films script trivia

Post by Bryan »

The 'Facenda Era' of NFL Films had some interesting lines. This trivia uses NFL Films script to describe a person/team/event, and you have to say what is being described.

Question #1: Which team was 'raped' in an NFL Championship Game, and which team did the 'raping'?

I would guess it was in the 1969 Vikings-Browns title tilt, in reference to the old saw about how vikings raped and pillaged. Ah, the good old days when you could use words like rape as amusing metaphors and (pretend that) nobody cared.

The Browns were the team that was raped, but it wasn't the 1969 version.

I guess that leaves 1968’s pillaging of the Browns by the Colts.

Correct! From the bizarre yet brilliant "NFL '68" film.

Next, from a season highlight film: Which legendary team was “tactically correct on nearly every play…not every call works (or course), but nearly every call IS THE RIGHT ONE!”
