Quick announcement-- since the June 19 deadline has passed for getting a room at Hampton Inn for July, the cost might be a factor in deciding whether to go to the Buffalo convention or not. Basically, all the convention rooms have two beds in them, even though most of us registrants at the convention are traveling by themselves. I can't speak for the others, but if you've decided against going because of lodging costs (or you're from the area but you've had a bit too much to drink at our Saturday night dinner), you can crash at my place, no charge, room's already paid for. Just e-mail at mrkl4d@harlanonline.net if you decide to attend.

With less than three weeks to go before the event I am getting amped up for it. I'm hoping for a bigger turnout than Green Bay and am looking forward to seeing a lot of people I have seen over the past ten years along with a lot of people I have never met before. My flight gets in at about 3 on Thursday afternoon, and I fly out at 10AM Sunday morning. Already looking forward to a beef on Weck sandwich. Used to love wings but gave them up completely after the double bypass in 2011 but will have them again but only if they are the best Buffalo has to offer, like maybe the Anchor Bar.

Same here! As this may very likely be the only PFRA convention I will ever attend due to it being held only a few miles from my house. FWIW, the best wings in Buffalo are at the 9-11 Tavern. With Gabriel's Gate and Anchor Bar right behind that. Jeffrey Miller would beg to differ though. He's a Duff's guy. I'd be up for wings (from wherever!), weck or whatever Saturday night. Been wanting to try the Blackthorn on Seneca Street for awhile too.

Anchor Bar is overrated … anyway, perhaps some of us can get together at a neutral site for some Buffalo fare. There are plenty of options ...

Very much looking forward to my first PFRA meeting, in my hometown.
I also agree that Anchor Bar is overrated. They can lay claim to being the originators of the modern chicken wing, but their wings are just not that good anymore.

I (sadly) wion't be able to go due to health reasons in my family, but hopefully everyone has a great time and I look forward to see pictures and commentes about the Meeting, who should be a great success like the others that I have attended.

A ten and a half hour drive proved to require a little too much advance planning for this PFRA member and single dad. I actually might be in Pittsburgh on Saturday though, that is kinda close to Buffalo!

Anyway, the roster of speakers looks great. I know there are a lot of members in that area. I'm sure everyone will have a great time, and good luck to all presenters!

Buffalo is a little more than three hours away. You can do this!

I very much regret not being able to go to Buffalo. I had such a great time with so many great people in Green Bay two years ago. I hope everyone has a fantastic time this weekend and I hope to see many of you again in 2020.

Well, I never made it to Pittsburgh either. Something with the kids came up, and it's kind of a tough time personally. Plus, that stupid time zone shift adds an hour. Whoever came up with that idea!

Seriously, that extra hour was making a difference on me getting there Friday, and some of the speakers I wanted to hear the most came earliest.

I'll plan better for 2020 so I can make it a multi day trip, more worthwhile. Buffalo is an excellent choice for host, and I'm sure everyone is having a great time.
