Coached vs each other in SB, also played vs each other

Post by 74_75_78_79_ »

That is, played against each other-period. Didn’t have to also play against each other in a Super Bowl.

Mike Ditka and Raymond Berry the first two to come to mind. In the ’60s, both played against each other (Bears vs Colts) plenty of times. What others examples can be given?

And, of course, this can apply to League Championship Games, not just SBs. Also, they didn’t both have to be head coaches squaring off in their title game match either. One, or both, could be coordinators or assistants.

Super Bowl VI, Landry vs. Shula, both faced each other as players in early 1950's.

(SB IX, Noll vs. Grant, missed as players by only 1 year!)

SB's X & XIII, Noll vs. Landry, and also as players in early 50's.

SB 50, Kubiak vs. Rivera, faced each other as players in the 80's.
