Of course, basically, the best Browns team so far this century?
Is it Crennel/Chudzinski's squad that has won the most games; or is it Butch Davis's who not only actually made the playoffs, but came as close as possible to advancing past the 'Burgh and had quite a staff: Arians, Pagano, Bowles, Butler, Robiskie...
Who's better?
2002 VS 2007 Browns
Re: 2002 VS 2007 Browns
The 2007 Browns were better. They had a more talented overall team. The 02 version may have been one of the worst playoff teams ever.

Re: 2002 VS 2007 Browns
'02 Browns did have enough moments worth mention, though. They beat Tennessee at Adelphia, also won at Jets with Jets' bad start well out the way, and also won at 7-3 New Orleans weeks before their epic collapse. Beat Atl in a season-finale must-win; and 9-5-1 Falcons were in must-win mode being that 9-6 favored Saints were hosting Panthers at the same time (lucky for Atl, Saints lost).
Steelers did sweep Browns but each game could have gone the other way and then there's the playoff game between them...what's a bigger Steelers "should-have" lost playoff game? That one or the Jets one two years later? You tell me. They definitely overachieved but had they got past Steelers, no I think Raiders win, but they would have been a dangerous team for they to look forward to. Again, they did have quite a staff under Butch Davis who I think is a HC worth another shot in the NFL. Give him a second stint for a better franchise and who knows?
Same with Chudzinski as I've already stated. Just as big a reason for their 10-6 finish as Crennel and a travesty he was only allowed just one year as HC for Browns in '13. He ends up a HC again and a successful one, will this make him the first successful HC to get fired after just one year in his first stint?
'3rd'-best Browns team this century? Mangenius's 2010 installment comes to mind. Peyton Hillis's year. Those back-to-back wins at Saints then home vs Pats to a respectable 3-5. Lose next two but then win another two straight; now at 5-7. Was as good as it'd get; they'd lose-out rest of way. I'm thinking Mangenius's guest-appearance as himself on Sopranos during that final season in 2007 (and being called that very nickname in that episode) may have cursed his career at least as a HC.
