Which WR tandem would you prefer?

- in '84, Marino put up 5,084 passing yards at a time where you just didn't pass that much. QBs in today's NFL pass-happy league don't put up those kind of numbers.
- in '84, Clayton had 18TDs. Bruce/Holt top out 13 and 12 TDs, respectively
You have to wonder what the Dolphins would do if they do if they played in today's league?
That '84 Dolphins O with...Marshall Faulk (with Martz as OC) - ouch! Still, they wouldn't have a D hence not at all be able to top SF. Rams' D was at least good enough to complement Greatest Show to SB-victory.L.C. Greenwood wrote:esorrells wrote:Got to go with Miami here. Their passing attack was certainly ahead of its time:

Good point, it was more difficult to throw during Marino's era for a number of reasons. Defensive players were allowed more contact with receivers, the QBs weren't protected as much by how the game was called, and Warner had Marshall Faulk in the backfield. It's scary to think how potent those Dolphins teams would have been with a HOF-caliber back on that team.
Very true. I didn't consider DEFs in my analysis, per the original question. If it was whole team, I would go with the Rams. But in terms of just a WR duo, I thought the Dolphins guys were truly something special.74_75_78_79_ wrote:That '84 Dolphins O with...Marshall Faulk (with Martz as OC) - ouch!
