Ladainian or Adrian? The two best RBs so far this century. Who's best between these two and who's the best RB so far this century (3rd place) besides these two?

As just a pure runner, Peterson is probably better. As an overall running back (running, pass catching, blocking), I go with Tomlinson.

Dickerson vs Payton springs to mind in the 80's.


LT did SO much for you that it's tough to not take him,but you can't ignore AP's superior running ability. I suppose you could say it depends on what system you are running...but I keep going back to AP because he always came off to me as more "impressive" both physically and when you saw him play. LT was obviously a stat monster but just isn't as imposing.

LT has a significant edge over Peterson in yards from scrimmage and TDs. I don't think Peterson will surpass LT in either category.

It's peak value vs. career value. Peterson has a slight edge in peak value, but I think LT will wind up with the slight edge in career value.

This sums up my thinking, too. LT was a superior overall back. Peterson is a stronger runner.
