I'm not suggesting to make an entire list of all 50 games with your pick, but let's just say that since SBI they awarded an MVP for each team, who would some notable ones from the losing teams have been? Ones whose standout performances were in vain? I'm sure Larry Fitzgerald first comes to mind as well as Levon Kirkland from SBXXX; Dan Ross SBXVI? I'm sure in many cases, you won't be able to come up with one from the losing team. Of course Howley was MVP for SBV, but then who from the Colts should have won it had they unconditionally awarded it to a winner as they've done since.

Thurman Thomas in Super Bowl XXV.

Admittedly, most of these from the first 10 games fall into the "have to pick someone" category. Among this group, the most worthy are probably Matte and Henderson, with Miller also in the mix.

I: Len Dawson
II: Bill Miller
III: Tom Matte
IV: John Henderson
V: John Mackey*
VI: Paul Warfield
VII: Roy Jefferson
VIII: Fran Tarkenton
IX: Chuck Foreman
X: Roger Staubach

Thurman Thomas in Super Bowl XXV.
Not only was he the best player on the losing team. He should have been the MVP of that game outright.

Foreman? 18 yards in 12 carries? I suppose he was better than Dave Osborn. Jeff Siemon maybe?

I would probably pick Rick Volk for V. The Colts defense really played fairly well and should be rewarded for it.

XXXI: Curtis Martin?
XXXII: Antonio Freeman
XXXIV: Steve McNair
XXXVI: Kurt Warner
XXXVIII: Jake Delhomme
XXXIX: Terrell Owens (sorry, everyone)

David Fulcher for SB XXVIII. Boomer is not in the discussion. He was 11-25 for under 200 yards and 1INT.

Foreman also had five catches for 50 yards. Again, nobody from the Vikes really deserves much credit. FWIW, Matt Blair (surprise) blocked the punt that Terry Brown recovered in the end zone for the only Minnesota score.

Don't be sorry. He played a really good game on a broken ankle. Probably the only time he showed any leadership.
