I hope Fisher does get at least an interim head coaching job in order to claim the career losses record. He shares the record with Dan Reeves, but Reeves had more success with similar or less talent.

In fairness, he did bring consistency to the league.

- Always the "they'll be good next year" team for media and 'fans' that don't understand football.

- The next year comes and they're their surprise preseason pick to the make the playoffs and/or win the division.

- The rest of us got to predict "7 wins or less" year after year.

- Good for at least one good brawl and/or tantrum by one of his players, per season.

- Not sarcastic, his special teams have been successful and interesting to watch.

All that aside, if this means he'll be staying off the competition committee then I'm happy. As the front man he was even more of a lying, manipulating, disgrace to the sport weasel than even McKay was for the short time he handled the podium.

The Rams I think are going to try to go for a big name to coach them next year, perhaps try to lure a Tony Dungy or Jon Gruden away from television. Jim Harbaugh is a possibility, not that he would accept. The only active coach I can see going there would be if Marvin Lewis leaves Cincinnati he might wind up in LA.
