I was looking at the list of players who have passed away this year, judging from the fact that the PFHOF tends to really consider players after they die (though I really think that is a slap in the face to them that they don't consider them more while they are alive to live their honors), and the only name I see on the list that I feel would be a suitable Senior Nominee this year is Al Wistert.

Does anyone think he will be the senior nominee this year?

Winston Hill also passed away this year.

Personally, I would be happy if Wistert were the nominee. However, since he passed away early in the year, I am not sure how much of an impact it will have.

My understanding is that Johnny Robinson is in poor health (if I am incorrect, please feel free to correct me). Others have been enshrined while in the throes of dementia ... the voters cannot select people based on their health or mortality, but it would be nice if players could enjoy or even understand what is going on when they finally get in.

Yes, sadly Robinson has been in poor healthy for a number of years.

I certainly hope so. If I had to pick ONE senior nominee, he would be it. (Robinson would be thisclose behind at 1A)

Well, I certainly HOPE Kramer gets it this year!!!

I think Wistert would be third on my list after Kramer and Robinson. Otis Taylor would be high on my list as well.

I spoke to Johnny Robinson in 2012. He had survived a previous stroke, and he sounded pretty good when I interviewed him. Now that was four years ago, and I'm guessing that his health has deteriorated since I last spoke to him. I have been pushing for his enshrinement in the PFHOF for over the past two decades. I don't know what the selection committee members are waiting for.
