9-7 with none of their losses blowouts, especially the finale vs Wash that would have won them the division and a home date with Ditka's Bears two weeks later. Totally different than their 8-7-1 campaign the previous year in which, despite wins vs Seattle and Raiders at LA, they gave up more pts than they scored. What happened in '85? They start off 3-1 and beat Dallas on Monday Night but not before a four-game skid following that very 3-1 start. The Hanifan era ended and soon their time in StL.
Back to '84, and speaking of MNF, you'd think they would have been on prime time that year as well coming off back-to-back winning seasons.
