As I've stated before, being a Steeler fan, it really bummed me out in '82 to not see the home MNF match vs Vermeil's Eagles along with facing LT's Giants and, of course, Champ-to-be Washington. Jets at Steelers Week #10 would have been a nice one too. Outside the 'Burgh, you had rematches of 'The Catch' (assuming SF actually does well if the season went 16 games) and 'Epic in Miami'. You also had Dallas and Miami each at Cincy to name a couple others.

For '87 you can include games that didn't take place period - like Den@Cle MNF - and also games that took place but during Weeks #3 thru #5 like every game the Bears played during that stretch: Week #3 at the Vet (another Ditka VS Buddy, Birds 7-5 in non-replacement games), then home the following two weeks vs playoff-bound Vikes & Saints.

Any other ones you can all think of from both these seasons?

Not to mention BOTH Bears-Packers games in 1982. After 60 years in a row of home-and-away meetings, their games in week 5 and week 8 were casualties of the strike.

The San Francisco 49ers were scheduled to come to Tampa Bay in 1982 (I believe on a Monday night). This would have been the Niners first trip to the "other" Bay Area. Defending World Champs, Tampa Bay's tenacious D, Joe Montana, Lee Roy Selmon, Frank, Howard and Dandy Don...the last season the Bucs would be competitive for well over a decade....that would have been fun.

Washington would have hosted San Francisco on Halloween, then traveled to Cincy the following week. Miami also would have traveled to Oakland on Halloween.

Two games that would have been shunted off to local stations because of a World Series conflict in Week 6 (10/17) were KC at SD and the Raiders at Seattle.
