Sad article about Otis Taylor bedridden with Parkinsons, though uplifting about the sacrifices his sister has made to care for him.

He was runner-up to Alan Page in AP MVP voting, 18 to 15, if memory serves, Paul Klatt would know for sure.

Yup, actually he was tied for second with Roger Staubach at 10 votes. Page had 16 votes. Griese was in 4th with 9 votes.

Otis Taylor may have been the best player on those great 1966-1971 Chiefs teams, and seemingly every one of his teammates made it to Canton except him. Not saying that Taylor deserves enshrinement, but he is probably overlooked. He made the 3 biggest plays for KC in their 1969 postseason run...the 61 yard catch-and-run against the Jets, the 35 yard "catch" from out of his own end zone against the Raiders, and the 46 yard TD against the Vikes.

Taylor strikes me as a good candidate for "most underrated" from those teams. Jerry Mays could be as well. Not sure either is quite a HoFer, agreed.

Jim Lynch was pretty underrated as well, which isn't surprising considering he played opposite of Bobby Bell. He was to Bell like Carl Banks was to L.T., though Banks got more credit for his play than Lynch seemed to.
