Miami's Dominance over Buffalo in the 1970s

Hey Guys,

We all know that Miami defeated Buffalo 20 times in 20 games during the 1970s. Do any of you out there know if that record has ever been equaled by any other team in any other decade? Even if the two teams were/are not in the same division (as Miami and Buffalo were in the 1970s), has any team ever defeated any other team 20 straight times? Thanks for any info that you guys can provide.

Sincerely,
Joe Zagorski

Not perfection, but domination nonetheless:

In between the two losses to Buffalo suffered by New England during the Belichick era, they went 26-2.

From 1950-58, the Browns were 16-2 against the Steelers.

From 1968-74, the Vikings beat the Lions 13 straight times before losing in week 6 of '74.

From 1966-76, the Rams were 17-2-2 against the Falcons.

Washington defeated Detroit 18 games in a row, and 22 of 24.

The goalposts came down in Buffalo that game in 1980 after finally beating the hated Fish.

The 49ers almost replicated the feat over the Rams in the '90s winning 17 in a row. They split in 1990 and the Rams swept the season series in 1999. They were a slightly improved team that year. ;)

Not sure how to take this one. Do you mean the Patriots beat the Bills 26 in a row, with the two losses coming before and after that streak? Or did they have a 26-2 streak bookended by two more losses, so it's 26-4 overall? Just wondering, but either way it's pretty good.

Correct. Buffalo won the first meeting in 2000 and won the final game of 2014. In between came the 26-2 stretch.

I have created a grid showing the 32 current teams in head-to-head competition.
(Pro FB Reference has them but it is by team - not all in one file.)
It is in EXCEL Starter which is easily converted.
I am going to try to post it here. If not, I am going to ask Ken to help. He is the only one who can navigate this place successfully.
I am sooo thankful he has chosen to run for President. It will be good to see competence.
In the meantime, if anyone would like a copy, please just ask.
PM above and we can exchange details.

Whoops! Just got the no-no message.
The extension xlsx is not allowed.

I tried putting it in Paint and it is way too large.
So... off to Ken...

Oh by gosh, by golly...
When you're Prez, we'll all be jolly.

Ken, you are amazing. I truly hope people appreciate what you do, what you have done in the past, and what heights you will lead us to in the years ahead.
