I don't have to tell anyone here what happen on Sept 17 1920 in Canton Ohio.

Henry Dreyfuss first sang "Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover."
(He meant his boss, of course, Herbert W. Hoover Sr.)
Years later, Archie Bunker added the word "again."
Now you know the jest of the story...

Turns out that there was a pro player born that very day

but George Hecht passed up the Cardinals, never played in the NFL, and played his ten games for the AAFC Chicago Rockets.

Decatur Staley's / Chicago Bears birthday today, with the Staley;s team organized at a meeting of the plant welfare society on 19th September 1919.
Not that the Bears seem to acknowledge the existance of the 1919 team, George Halas apparently founding everything.
