NFL Players List through 2013

More than 22,000 players have been on NFL rosters since its inception thru 07/27/2014.

Obviously, that list contains too many characters to be posted here.
If anyone wants a copy, ask.

Alpha Last, First Name - Years - Position(s)

It is NOT a data base but a db can easily be created.

For players after July 27, that information would be on the Pro Football Reference site, which would have the class of 2014 on it and (theoretically, anyway) would update during the season, as new players are activated. However, this list needs to be taken with a grain of salt, since some of the newer players listed haven't yet appeared in a game, so Isaako Aaitui hasn't yet replaced Joe Abbey as the first in the alphabet. The 22,000+ on oldcapecod's list have, presumably, all played in at least one NFL, AFL, AAFC or APFA game. That one would run from Abbey to Zyntell.
