Youre probably right Richard, since the Lions at least retained their offensive line coach. Without Johnson fine-tuning that offense however, Campbell will be more selective with his riverboat gambling. Hopefully, another solid draft can keep them ready for another divisional title next year.

Goff just has to forget about this loss but I also believe he played the second half with a concussion. He got belted on that non-call hit after the interception.

Word is the Lions are promoting LBs coach Kelvin Sheppard to DC. Glenn calls him a fucking bulldog. Or maybe he was fucking a bulldog. Either way, he's got the kind of energy Campbell loves.

"That’s my job, is to replenish and find the next man up," Campbell said. "This train rolls on and I’ll find the next best guys for us." The new OC will also likely be an in-house choice.

Oh, and I hope it's Eagles-Bills in the SB. If it's Wash-KC I think I'll just binge-watch some season of The Wire on Super Sunday. Need my Omar fix.

But I really think KC and Eagles win tomorrow. If so, I'll go with Eagles in the SB. Just keep running Barkley, man. Simple as dat.

I dont believe it, Richard ... I know you would sneak a peek and root for Daniels to win the first championship for a rookie QB, since Bob-Jane Russell-Waterfield!! I met a lady in Reno, Nevada in 1999, who looked just like a young Russell. Didnt like all her red lipstick though ... haha

Big gazongas and bright red lipstick? Did she have a wooden leg and chain-smoke Pall-Malls? If so, that probably was my Aunt Sophie.

Haha ... big hair and big gazongas! John LoVetere's daughter was hot but crazy! Dated George Jones' step-daughter and got a forehead kiss from Hulk Hogan's daughter--too old for her--Been a lucky guy.

It'd make for a better story if you dated George Jones and Hulk Hogan kissed you on the forehead.

Yeah ... TMI. You just wonder which players Ben Johnson will try to swipe from the Lions roster? I think Zeitler will be the first?

Its sad no team was willing to pursue Bill Belichick.

The Lions have had 5 coaches poached off their staff in the week since they lost to Wash. And I expect Johnson and Glenn to grab a couple more each, as well as some players. Just the way it goes when you're successful. I'll be curious to see just how successful Glenn and Johnson turn out to be in the long run. I really thought both would stick around to finish the job in Detroit, but every man has his own dreams and goals and priorities.

It's amazing to think that in the '50s, you had a HC and maybe 3 assistants (who usually had 6-month contracts). What's the typical size of a coaching staff now, about 18 or so? And I'd imagine all are full-time.

Wait, the Lions had five coaches poached by other teams in one offseason?

Definitely a sign that something went right that assistants are getting more opportunities. Losing five in one offseason feels like a record amount.
