The best, and undrafted, NFL QBs that won a NC in college?

Well, in my defense I was focused on the Washington Huskies in 1984 - not some pint-size and (to me) no-name QB playing for a college team that I never gave any regard to.

Yes.

He played his first six years in Canada and STILL retired with the 3rd most passing yards in NFL history -- behind Marino and Elway. Came within 300 yards or so of throwing for 5,000 yards in a season, twice. One of those years he missed the final game with an injury.

I think Gino Torretta won a NC with Miami as well but was dreadful as a pro ...

He truly was. Somehow he ended up with my Seahawks at some point (probably because the 'hawks still hadn't worked themselves free of the Kelly Stouffer/John Friesz/Dan McGwire/Jeff Kemp/Stan Gelbaugh/Rick Mirer [future H.o.F.ers, all - ] morass at QB that they got themselves into starting in the late '80s. . .also because, by that time, his college head coach [Dennis Erickson] was the Seahawks' H.C.). Somehow I remember the ONE game that Gino Torretta started for SEA - a late-season game vs. the Raiders. He was horrible. Throwing passes (to guys in the flat) into the ground. Missing receivers by 10 yards (wide, high - you name it). But he somehow managed to throw for ONE touchdown in that game, and wouldn't you know it? That one pass by Gino Torretta probably won the game for the Seahawks that day.

My only other memory of that game is of me thinking at the time that "if there's any justice in the world, every single player on the field today will refuse his paycheck for the week." It was truly one of the most pitiful displays of "professional" football that I've ever seen.
