To Glen's credit ... I understand them trying to run the ball on 3rd down, but a play fake on 4th down might have gotten the first?

I didn't like the play call. 4th down and short and you are in shotgun and hand the ball off to a big running back with no momentum? If the QB is under center and he hands off to the back at least the back has some momentum built up.

The play calling on offense is not Glenn's fault. Letting Geno Smith slide feet first instead of diving forward after a scramble on 1st down after the long Breece Hall catch and run might be Glenn's fault for not coaching the QB to be more aggressive but maybe the blame there needs to fall more on Smith and Frank Reich.

The final drive in regulation was weird but I can understand the Jets letting the clock run. You could have a punt muffed again or you opt to not field it and possibly get possession in horrific field position. The way that whole thing played out, I would have called timeout at 11 seconds. Green Bay cannot try a Hail Mary then since if it fails then the Jets can run a play and call time out and set up for a long field goal. At 11 seconds Green Bay could try a long field goal on 4th down but probably would not risk a try. They probably would have punted. The Jets could have then tried to go all out to block the punt and don't even have anybody set to field it if the punt doesn't get blocked. If they don't block the punt, then the game goes to overtime.

I saw some people think it was egregious clock mismanagement by Glenn. I didn't see it as that. I was more annoyed with the end of the first half in the opener when the Jets let the clock expire when they had the ball at midfield.

As for the overtime decision to take the ball, people can argue about that till the end of time. There are valid arguments for both sides but the Jets hater people, many of which are actually Jets fans, go for the low hanging fruit of ripping Glenn for it. If you get the ball first and score and the other team matches, then you can win on the next drive. The Chiefs did that on Sunday night. If Glenn wants to do this he could say, "The Colts chose to not take the ball first in overtime and they lost because of it."

And week 3 gets off to a rip-roaring start in GB. Except its not the Packers but the lowly Falcons that decide to play football. I guess Penix was wise to finally decide to play, because the team rallied around him. Hard to win a game for GB when the team only has 9 total carries. They should be 0-3 ... Counting postseason, they are 1-7 in their last eight games.

Despite the Chargers defense forcing five turnovers, the Bills get the win at the Big Nickel. The Texans also start out 0-3 for the second straight year losing to the Colts. I lost money thinking they wouldnt do it again, as they are not the same offense without Nico Collins.

Huge upset for Washington, with the Steelers getting a good game from Rodgers to hold off the Bengals.

Titans had a chance to win in NY but Ward threw a bad interception into the endzone to give Winston a needed win. Can he hold off any challengers to the job if the team signs Jimmy Garappollo?

Rams-Broncos was an awesome game.

Though I think it’s possible that there was one interception that wasn’t called correctly on Nix’s game winning drive.

I cant even remember the last time DeShaun Watson led a game winning drive until tonight? Browns hung on and start 3-1 with impressive rookie receivers. The Steelers rally falls short. Huge 56 yrd kick to win it for Cleveland. Bert Rechichar would be proud.

Very surprised that CBS cut ties with Tony Romo, though it was also considered mutual? You would think they could work with him or demote him but maybe this was their out for his expensive contract? I thought Pat Summerall worked through the same problem but maybe that was Fox network?

Texans go 0-4 after dropping another interception that would have sealed a win. Both DBs fought for the ball, as Prescott gets another chance before hitting Lamb with his 17th catch of the game for the winning TD. For the second time in four games, the defense cant seal the win and its pass rush couldnt get to Prescott. Are the Texans done for the playoffs?

Patriots end an opening winning streak for the Bills in consecutive seasons with Chism making a spectacular one-handed game winning TD catch. QBs going down with injuries continues to happen with Mariota getting hurt for Washington in a Colts victory. Jackson also misses the second half as the Ravens beat the Titans.

Bears and Giants continue to win with their backup QBs. Jets lose easily but get their first defensive interception in 21 games.

Raiders prolly wishing they hadnt taken three points off the board when they failed to get a first down after the penalty. A fumble later in the game cost them but Cousins kept fighting to the end.
If this team could get a good receiver before the deadline, they could make a run at postseason but alot of football left.

Big win over Denver as the 49ers stay unbeaten along with the Vikings. Shaheed finally made a big play for Seattle in their win over the Chargers. Could Kubiak for the Raiders try to obtain him from Seattle, despite the big contract?
