I do think that had he been drafted by a more established and stable team he would have been a fine QB and his development would have had totally different trajectory. He was never going to be a HOF or Super Bowl level guy but I do believe in different circumstances he could have been perfectly fine 8-10 year starter with some playoff wins.

Carr was over-evaluated when he came out. I don't think he was worthy of the #1 overall pick, especially by an expansion team in it's first year. They should have taken Julius Peppers instead.

The question is how many sacks does Tony Banks take? He was essentially Houston’s equivalent of Frank Reich with expansion Carolina

Carr had ability but his line wasnt good enough and the game was too fast for him. If a QB cant work with Kubiak, somethings wrong, because even Matt Shaub had some PB seasons. Its interesting that the Texans could run and pass well later to win 12 games in 2012, but in 2013 the wheels came off as they had a disastrous season winning only two games before Gary Kubiak got fired.

He was a tease because of injury, more than likely. Others, like Bobby Hoying, just couldn't play in the NFL.

I felt he (Testaverde) could have done better with the Cowboys in 2005 but Parcells went with Bledsoe, which makes sense.

After Bledsoe was forced out of Buffalo because those idiots liked J.P. Losman for some reason (who wasn't even good enough to be a QB tease. However, his successor, Trent Edwards, was. However, he fell to injury, and was replaced by Fitzmagic).

Matt Schaub had so much more talent around him it's crazy, Duane Brown and Chris Myers were excellent linemen, Vonta Leach and Arian Foster in the backfield, Owen Daniels superb tight end, and Andre Johnson by 07 had matured into the best receiver in the game. I don't think Schaub would have done as well with the 02-06 Texans offensive lineup, possibly even worse than Carr did since I'm sure he would have stayed injured. At least Carr was there on Sunday(except for an injury in 03).

I would agree that they should have just drafted Peppers with the first pick and went with Banks and maybe another QB in the expansion draft, maybe Jeff Blake.

After winning the Super Bowl in 2013, Flacco signed a huge contract and the "experts" called him a Top 10, if not Top 5, QB. He had arguably the best postseason in history by a QB. Then, Flacco had just two winning seasons as a full-time starter who started most of his team's games after 2013.

Flacco did nothing significant after leaving the Ravens in 2018. He didn't ever make the Pro Bowl until a year or two ago. He was at the top of the mountain after winning the SB... and folks may have thought he was there to stay. Then it all went downhill. Is that not a tease?

The comments are true about Flacco ... but he was very successful when he won it all. After that, he seemed to regress, similar to Eli Manning and Troy Aikman. The Ravens running game was terrible and Flacco didnt have many weapons until Lamar Jackson joined the team his last year there. Having a big lead and the defense allowing Tom Brady to lead a comeback in the 2014/15 postseason didnt help as well. A Ravens-Seahawks SB would have been interesting, since the Colts were manhandled by NE, but the Ravens blew that playoff game and Flacco couldnt get the swagger back.

After his SB win in early 2013, Flacco had exactly three receivers and ONE RB who achieved a 1000 yrd plus season from 2013 - 2018 in Baltimore.

Imagine had he retained Ray Rice at RB, Torrey Smith at receiver, and a younger Steve Smith Sr? Torrey Smith and his speed left after the 2014/15 playoff loss. Yes, with his talent and one championship, he was a tease, but also, his first seven seasons as starter he had NO losing seasons and has a career 117 - 100 career record as starter ... not bad at all.
