Haha ... the thread was started to cover the game itself, since I was hoping people would comment during and after the game. I just watched the replay and anyone who thinks Mahomes has lost arm strength needs to watch his final TD pass, which went 68 yards in the air from his 40 yrd line to the back of the endzone. Fans miss him going deep. I hope Hopkins comes back for them next year. He will be more a factor with Worthy and Kelce. Rice could be incarcerated.
I am still partial to the 1960 Eagles championship team which had so many great players including Van Brocklin, Bednarik, McDonald, Retzlaff, T Brown, Walston and Burroughs, coached by Buck Shaw, who should also be in the HOF.
I disagree 74_75_78_79_ ... I feel the Lions, Bills or Ravens could have beaten the Eagles but with two weeks, Fangio would have come up with a defensive gameplan like last night. It would have been interesting to see those matchups instead of a flat Chiefs performance.
Just like the logic that Cleveland would have given Giants/Redskins "better" games in the '80s (and I
did root for them over Denver despite being a Steeler-fan), the fact is that they couldn't top Denver so, sadly, end of discussion (same with the '94 AFCCG). Bills & Ravens may keep it real close but, deer-in-headlights, can't punch-it-in vs KC when it matters most in the 4th thus the Chiefs still
rule the AFC until. "Maybe next year", from a guy who predicted, going into '05, that Peyton would "never" win a Super Bowl. I was right for just one full-season after that (and, yes, I'm glad I was wrong). We'll simply have to see.
KC is about to have a massive SB hangover. I think they'll miss the playoffs next year. Their dynasty died last night and Mahomes quite frankly will never pass Montana let alone Brady

I remember hearing the same kind of comments after Tampa Bay whupped 'em a few years back. They'll reload and be back to piss off the haters.

It was kind of funny reading and listening to media talk about Worthy's performance as great and the best for a rookie receiver, when everything he did was after ... a 34-0 deficit. His stats are the epitome of "garbage time."
I re-looked at your comment before the game 74_75_78_79_ and your predicted score was pretty close at 35-21, just the sequence was different.

Nope. In fact, I say Mahomes will never even make it back to another SB.

As I mentioned on this thread during the SB broadcast, Barkley had a chance to stick it to Vegas on the prop bets by scoring the first TD of the game but with him not getting the ball, or scoring a TD the rest of the game for that matter ... Vegas cleaned up on same-game prop parlay bets and others, to the record tune of 22.1 million.
Lets hope whoever won on the Birds avoided these bets but its doubtful.
Bills fans I have talked to, felt Mahomes dogged this game. They felt he deliberately allowed the Eagles rush to get to him by scrambling around or having nervous feet from the pocket. They remembered what the Bucs had done to him as well in 2021, while killing the Bills defense in both years. It was only 10-12 fans I talked to but they had a point and stood by it. I felt the Chiefs were flat but seeing a quiet Kelce on the sidelines, you just really never know? Cam Newton has been spouting off about the Panthers players being a bunch of losers when he joined the team, but I truly felt he point shaved that Denver SB game.

So we are trying to say Mahomes was trying to get beat up in the game and then also purposefully lose the game? Maybe then Mahomes being in near tears at the end of the game was him trying really hard to get into the act he would have to do post game when talking to the media.
I don't know. I come here and read remarks. This guy hates everything about the NFL. Then this other guy thinks everything is rigged. Then the NFL-hater agrees with that guy about the rigging. Then we have people commenting who don't even watch the games. Reading the comments here are fascinating sometimes.

Thats funny ... I never said a damn thing about hating everything about the NFL. If I did, I wouldnt be watching or gambling on it. I didnt say it was completely rigged either, though I feel the officials, coaches and teams can affect outcomes. Hell, a team doesnt even get in trouble for not reporting injuries, which can affect all gambling. Am I a cynic, of course, but this game still entertains and enlightens me. There is no collision sport in the world like it, though boxing and wrestling carry their own dangers.
I made comments about what Buffalo Bills fans told me, I didnt say I agreed with them, though they made good points. Do I believe Cam Newton dogged it in a SB by not playing his best or putting it all out on the line for his teammates, you damn right I said it and believe it. I do watch games, which makes me qualified to comment on them, if others are not watching them, thats their problem ... I have no problem with people disagreeing with me, there is no disrespect on my part. Its a forum after all.

In the ultimate team game this selfish "business decision" (in the Super Bowl yet) made me lose a lot of respect for Mr. Newton.

He definitely wasn't giving his all in that game.

50 was one of my favorite Super Bowls. I wouldn't take anything away from the Denver defense. They were great - especially Miller and Ware. Reminded me of the (NFC) defenses of the '80s.
