Correct! It was the game where the Rams scored three safeties in the third quarter. The play I most remember, however, was the opening kickoff: Rams returner A. J. "Jam" Jones didn't field the kickoff (maybe he thought it was a punt) and Phil McConkey fell on the ball in the endzone for an easy touchdown.

Rams beat Bengals on 10/22/72, despite Bengals outgaining them in total yardage 283-149:

Horst Muhlmann missed three FG's from 21, 16 and 26 yards. The game was tied with 35 seconds left when the Rams got the ball on their own 13. With the ball on their 43, Gabriel (who had a brutal day) connected on a 17-yatd pass at the Cincy 40 with three seconds left. On the play, Bill bergey was flagged for clotheslining Bob Klein, which moved the ball to the 25, allowing the Rams to kick the winning FG.

Of course correct! You obviously know more about the game than I! Would love to see it! But not able to (at least for now; perhaps give it time). Any game in which each team makes a safety. And of course a rare matchup between two good early-'70s teams albeit neither making playoffs that very year but each having VERY good years the following season! Would have loved to have seen them go at it in '73!
