I actually looked into this and know some of the details, but take it with a grain of salt - I read through (too many) of the comments under some of the videos posted by a few different news outlets which I'm sure guarantees some details are wrong.

Hunt and his group which included at least one female, picked up these two 19-year old college girls at a club and took them back to their hotel room. Something happened and the girls got kicked out. I don't think there's much dispute with those first two sentences, its the rest no one knows. The girls claim they were in the hall trying to figure out how to get home (technically back to their college housing based on the video from the police officer's body cam) when the female in Hunt's group came out and instigated. Hunt's group claims the girls were banging on their door trying to get back in and using racial slur(s). Call me naive, but I don't think these girls knew who they were dealing with. When the officer was questioning her, she said "Kareem" with air quotes - it seemed genuine to me that she was really questioning if this guy had even given his real name. Last thing, it seems both complaints would have just sat indefinitely/forever? without the TMZ video and maybe with it too? I don't know, maybe when Law and Order does an episode, they'll explain that part.

First part sounds believable but as you said who knows about the rest. The only thing I would truly take seriously is the video that we saw. Most of the times in these situations when questioned the people leave out the parts of the story that make them look bad and focus on the things that make the other people look bad. Also I'd be very surprised if the girls didn't know that Kareem was an nfl player. That's generally how these guys get girls like that to come hang out with them is they throw "I'm a big time athlete' around and that is generally what separates them from all the other guys that hit on these girls.

I can see that, like I said, maybe I'm naive, it just seemed genuine to me.

LOL, countless women have been picked up by a big time NFL star who was not, in fact, "a big time NFL star".... or even someone who had ever played pro football. And it's not like Hunt could show off a Super Bowl ring. If this had been in Kansas City instead of Cleveland, her claim that she didn't know who Kareem Hunt was might be more dubious.

I'll just say again that chances are very small that she didn't know he played in the nfl.

There was an assistant football coach at a high school near where I live who claimed to be Nick Eddy and got away with it for about 20 years. He even did an interview with the newspaper at which I used to work that resulted in a long feature story about his football career.

I don't know if he ever used the ruse to pick up girls, though...

I once read a piece about former WR Golden Richards who said when he played for the Cowboys in the 70's, guys would pretend to be him to "make time with the ladies."

Hunt is from the Cleveland area.
