I wouldn't call him great, but how about Danny Abramowicz?Still looking for that great player, post or pre-merger, who only ever played on below-500 teams. Tough to find.

Good one. Perhaps we should lower the bar a bit from ‘great’ to ‘good’, at least. I thought about Dick Jauron but, like Eric Hill, he experienced two .500 (7-7) seasons himself (in both ’74 & ’75). He’d go on to Cincy from ’78 thru ’80; and had he stayed just one more year...conace21 wrote:You beat me to it, Chris!ChrisBabcock wrote:I wouldn't call him great, but how about Danny Abramowicz?Still looking for that great player, post or pre-merger, who only ever played on below-500 teams. Billy Ray Smith Jr. just missed out on the last good Coryell year, then retired right when Bobby Ross made the Chargers competitive. His rookie year was 1983, and he logged one game in 1992 and did not participate in the postseason. He was a very good player who excelled at both the ILB and OLB positions.

Sonny Jurgensen's only postseason game (in which he saw action) was the last game of his career.
