Yeah. And, why does the QB have to only be MVP, especially in the last 20 years or so when it's gotten way easier to play the position because defenses have become neutered.

Typically the rebuttal I hear is that someone responds with arguing that quarterback is the most important position on the team.

I’d agree that rule changes since illegal contact became strictly enforced make it easier to pass efficiently, but putting up the best stats in the league at your position is something going for a quarterback regardless of era.

If Cooper Kupp’s triple crown season couldn’t win MVP…..

It didn’t, and the thing about most receivers is that when they put up excellent numbers, generally they have a quarterback who did the same, so those two players would cancel each other out in a lot of voters’ minds I’d imagine.

That exact scenario most likely happened in 1987. (Elway, Montana/Rice)

Jerry Rice in 1995 was the exception, gliding through defenses while catching passes from Grbac and Young. Grbac probably donated future salary to him, as teams went after Elvis in free agency. I still cant believe Schottenheimer chose him over Rich Gannon in KC ...

Yes. Also, in that 30 for 30 about the 2000 Ravens, Trent Dilfer said that it took him a long time to get over the fact that they chose Elvis over him for 2001.
